See Yourself Succeed Bus Tours (2013 and 2015)
In April and May 2015, Southern New Hampshire University set out on its second cross-country bus tour, celebrating student success. Planning for the 6-week trip started in November 2014 with the casting process, which I managed. Throughout the pre-production process, I was tasked with building and editing presentation documents, interviewing students and alumni, managing the integrated campaign brainstorming process, and working with our creative team and production company to bring the final concepts to life. My focus was broadcast production, but I also assisted the social media team with casting, scheduling and logistics, and managed the execution of three major events with the help of an event planning vendor.
On the road as a broadcast producer, my role was constantly changing from wardrobe stylist to talent management to client liaison. More than 6 months after the start of creative brainstorming, the first commercial launched in market. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing all your team's hard work come to life on TV.
Behind-The-Scenes
From San Diego to the Badlands to our home base in New Hampshire, both bus tours took us zig zagging across the country. Now, don't judge the BTS photos too hard—it was 2013 and 2015 iPhone quality after all. I had the pleasure of not only supporting social media and a blog that covered the tour in real-time, but also learned the ins and outs of production in a real-world crash course on casting, interviewing, directing, wardrobe, location scouting, event planning and so much more. On the 2015 tour, when I was a full-fledged producer on the project, the crew managed to surprise me with my own diploma delivery in San Francisco—complete with appearances from my parents, sister and favorite junior high teacher who inspired me to be a writer.
See Yourself Succeed Recap
For those who love all the details, I wrote a complete recap for the SNHU magazine about the ins and outs of the second bus tour we did. Flip through its pages below. It's a sample of my long-form skills, but more importantly speaks to the excitement and emotion of this campaign.
